How to Advance in Rank - Revealed!

If you're looking to get ahead in the Scripture Typer rankings, then this is for you. And if you'd prefer to ignore the rankings, then that's fine, too! Either way, here are some tips to stay on top of your Bible memory verses. So, now revealed for the very first time, the best ways to earn points and advance in rank are...

1. Memorize lots of Bible verses. Pretty straightforward. But simply memorizing verses isn't enough; you must keep them current. Which leads us to the second best way to accumulate points...

2. Review, review, review. You get points every time you successfully review a verse, even if it is not due for review. Reviewing is the best way to build up points and stay ahead in the rankings. The first time you successfully review a verse in an eight hour period awards the greatest number points. However, additional points will be earned every time you successfully review a verse, even if you last reviewed it less than eight hours ago.

3. Start or join a Bible memory group. Memorize at least 10 Bible verses in that group for some more extra points. Of course, you'll need to stay current on those, too!

4. Memorize every verse in a Scripture Typer collection from the Verse Library.

5. Memorize the Top 100 Bible Verses, as found in the Verse Library.

6. Increase your target accuracy. The default is set to 90%, but you can increase it by going to Settings -> Preferences on the Scripture Typer App for iPhone, iPad, Android, and Kindle Fire. (This is currently an app-only feature.)

These are the most efficient ways to build up points and advance in rank. However, you can also earn some bonus points just by getting started on Scripture Typer. The first time you select a collection from the Verse Library, create your own verse collection, import a verse, record a verse (currently app-only), or review using flash cards (currently app-only) will each add 10 points to your name.

Finally, If you've been using ScriptureTyper.com only and not the app, we apologize for any discouragement you may have felt this past week as the new system caused the points to be reset. We hope these tips are especially helpful as you advance in rank using ScriptureTyper.com's updated system. Updating ScriptureTyper.com to work like the app was a one-time, long-term change that should never need to be done again. We hope these tips and the updated ScriptureTyper.com help you achieve your Bible memory goals. So, thank you for your patience. Now go have some fun, and start memorizing!

Tips & Tricks
Find Your Ranking

If you thrive on a little competition, Scripture Typer's Rankings system is sure to spur you on to memorize more. (And if you don't like competition, then just ignore the rankings, and pretend they aren't there!)

Scripture Typer has two sets of rankings: 1) the number of points you've earned, and 2) the number of verses you have current. The default is by the number of points you have accumulated. To see where you rank under either set of criteria, go to Settings -> Rankings in the Scripture Typer App for iPhone, iPad, Android, and Kindle Fire, or on the Review screen at ScriptureTyper.com. Happy memorizing
