Can someone please invite me to this group again? Somehow I got removed from all my groups, and it won't let me re-join without and invitation :(
Even if I was, I really do not have time to keep track of another group :P
I'm not as active as I would need to be to join a group for active people.
I don't think anyone will
Is someone going to add the National passages?
I'm not very active..........
Suzzane left... sorry bout that...
can you please join Morgan?
@Suzanne, because there were last years National verses on here.
hello everyone I am inviting everyone in this group who is active to my group I just made named Active members ONLY. I am hoping to make a very active group. I am a very active person and I go on multiple times a day. I wan to have this active group to be able to share stuff and get answers quickly and that when questions are asked they get answered too. we can memorize together in a healthy environment of people from all around the globe!! I would gladly promote anyone who has verses to add or just them for you if you tell me which ones. thankyou for your consideration for joining my group!! may the Lord bless you all!!
oh. then why does this group have so many verses?
The reason that the verses are gone is because this group is for nationals, and the passages have not been released (And we don't know if we made it yet).
but this group still has people with verses current.
hey where are all the verses??
hi again!! this is my first year as a junior!

Welcome, Zoe! Glad to have you! :)
Farewell, no-longer-fellow juniors! I can't officially be a part of this group anymore, so I guess y'all might be competing against instead of with me this year on the group leaderboard. :P
bye people!!! see you later
I'll admit, it is a lot, like, a LOT, of hard work, but it is DEFINITELY worth it.
whoaaaaa.... sound complicated but fun!😶😧😦
I've posted longer before. :P I don't think on ST, though:P
now that was a long post! probably the longest post I ever saw! but don't worry either, I love long posts too
@Suzanne: Yes! It was awesome=) @Hana: Oh, okay. :) So...first is the summer study. We are given a section of the Bible to inductively study with the help of the 'Discovery Journal' they give us, as well as some verses to memorize. - In 2016 it was 14 passages = 45 verses during the summer to memorize. Then in August, we all take an online test, and we're tested on the section of scripture we studied, as well as the verses we've memorized. About a week later we have 'Award Day,' which the hosts(locals - there are local groups around the Nation) around the country put on. There we find out what our rank is locally, in just our bee, and also if we qualified for Nationals or not. - If you rank in the top 120 of your age group, you will be invited to compete in the National competition(for the last 2 years it has been in San Antonio. They still have a contract with the J.W. Marriott for 2017 as well.) in November. Then until Nationals, you would study more - we are given another section of scripture to study inductively, only this time without a study guide. Also we are given more verses to memorize - lots more. In 2016 Primaries(7-10yo's) had 620 verses. Juniors(11-14yo's) had 791 verses, and Senors(15-18yo's) had 895 verses. Also we have to keep up the things we studied during the summer. At Nationals we are tested orally as well as taking a written test - a computer based test. Orally you are asked to quote a certain number of passages that you memorized during Nationals or during Locals(in 2016 they surprised everybody by doing 3 locals passages out of the 5 we were tested on). On the CBT we are tested on all the materials we studied both during the summer and during Nationals. Then there's fun stuff, like the processional/Qualifier Awards Presentation, during which each of us get presented a medallion. Also during the QAP, the semi-finalists are announced - the top 15 in each age group. Semi-finals is a competition that takes place on stage, and one by one the contestants come out and are asked to quote a passage. It is also single elimination, which is really tough. Even if you put an 's' on a word and it wasn't there, you're out. Or even if you think you didn't put an 's' on a word, or anything like that, but they say you did...:P There is a time limit, but I won't go into all that. Anyways, the top five go into finals, which is a little more complicated, so I don't think I'll try to explain it now:P There are money prizes - the top prize in Seniors being $100,000. Top prize in Juniors is $50,000, and top prize in Primaries is $25,000. There are also a bunch of other fun stuff like the Family Fun Room, and, here in SA at the J.W. Marriott, the water park. And much more! Even this long of a post doesn't explain it all like real life experience would! ;P It is hard work. But it is worth it. And even if I never get to Nationals again, It will still be worth it! Because of God's Word.
wow that does sound fun! don't worry I like long posts!!😜
well, we first have the locals, which is in the summer. you basically study by yourself or with others the curriculum they give you. then you take an oral and online test, and if you get into the top 120 of your division for the online test, you get into the Nationals! then you get thins HUGE list of verses to memorize during a few months, and you also study a passage. then everyone in the nats meets at this place and have the national contest. first you go to the preliminaries where you take another oral test and CBT, which stands for computer based test. then if you get into the top 15 oft your division, you go on to the semifinals. then in the semifinals, the top 5 go to the finals. I'm not really sure how the semifinals and finals work however, because I never got into them. the whole thing is super fun though, and you can make lots of friends... hope that answered your question. sorry about the long post though.
wow that's cool! we did the cake decorating one year but I never got too! I'm still a Little unsure here where do you go for the bb and what do you do?
whoa! you were in the bible bee game show???? that's awesome!
The whole website is https://biblebee.org/, but here's the link to the Game Show page: https://biblebee.org/gameshow/
Yes Hana you'd like BB! Only 1 thing is that it's the best place ever to meet Christian like-minded people, who some of which will be best friends for a life time! My best friend I met through Bible Bee - she lives in AK! Have you gone to the website yet? Also, FYI I was able to compete in the National Bible Bee Game Show, Season 2, which was filmed last January, almost exactly a year ago. They still haven't aired it, but I hope they will soon... they haven't set a time specifically. There's a trailer for it on the BB website! It's really cool! Go watch it! I'll try to let you know on here when I hear that it's going to air...:) Oh, btw, I love cake decorating! Have you done any of that with Pathfinders?
@Hana I live near San Antonio TX as well. :) If you like pathfinders, I bet you'd like BB too! :) (I haven't done pathfinders, but I'm guessing from your description)
@Hana: I live in SA, TX. @Suzanne: It basically means 'joking;' you can put it 'jk' too. Kind of like 'thx' which means 'thanks' and 'sry' which means 'sorry,' etc.
@brianna, what does jkjk mean?
wow! yeah it is really fun. where do y'all live?
That sounds fun, Hana! lol I guess it's the same way with some of us - we can hardly believe y'all don't know what Bible Bee is. jkjk :P
then I have no idea why I never heard about it! thanks for telling me though, it sounds super fun!
I don't know I guess I just cant believe u don't know what it is...pathfinders is a world wide organization for young people to get together and basically learn about God and ways to 'survive'. there are honors that you can earn like leather craft, knot tying, CPR and first aid, and some fun ones too like cake decorating. there is also a camporee and a fair every year for just the state, a camporee for the union every so often (I'm not sure how often) and an international camporee every 5 years. it's a lot of fun and I enjoy it.
I remember our pathfinder group would study for the BB but by the time I got into Pathfinders they didn't do it anymore.
It's called 'Off Season BB Memory' :)
@katie, can you tell me the name of the group?
Here's a link to the group, for anyone that wants to join! :) https://scripturetyper.com/Group/View/a52476950c/
@Brianna, Yup, it did! Thanks! :) @Suzanne, OK. And Thanks. :)
What I meant by the verses carrying over is that 30-50% of 2016's verses are going to be used for 2017 as well. And they didn't say if they're going to mix them all up or keep the divisions separate...but as soon as I finish the Junior verses (hopefully next week) I'm going to work on the Senior verses, because I'm a Senior now (or will be as soon as BB 2017 starts), and even if they are going to mix them up Seniors have more of the verses than Primary's do. xP I hope that made at least some sense...
wait actually I meant I would join Katie's group, and I was asking Brianna what verses I should memorize.
oh sorry! I'm talking to you. I'm just to lazy to put the @_____ there. :P I like your new picture! I'm hoping to get one of my own soon.
@Suzanne, I'm not sure if your asking me or Brianna. I'm actually not sure, which is why I was asking Brianna. :D OK! Let me make sure it's alright with the girl that came up with the list of verses, before I create the group. :)
I will! so are you saying I should memorize the senior verses or the primary? I didn't get what you said that well sorry.
I may just start another group with the verses. Since I'm not an admin on here, and this is a BB group anyways. Would anyone want to join? :)
@Brianna, wow!! I hadn't heard that! Do you know if they're going to change the division for the verses? (i.e give the seniors some of the verses we juniors had this year) I'll definitely work on finishing off the verses. ;) BTW, 40- rankings are really good @Suzanne and Brianna! Good job!
so there are going to be more verses? O______O
It is, Hana! You should check it out! It will change your entire life! @Katie: I'm memorizing more verses from Nationals:) Since they've said that the verses from 2016 are going to carry over 30-50% to 2017...;)
all of revelation? that's a lot!
have you guys heard of the revelation group? we were supposed to memorize all of revelation last year (2016) I got most of revelation 21, part of revelation 22 and a little bit of revelation 1 and 12. I'm also atempting to memorize Hebrews. wow the BB sounds really fun!
I might memorize them if I know what they are. I've been wanting to start memorizing something for a while now.
What is everyone memorizing now? I have a list of 200 verses (35 passages) that I'm going to be memorizing the next couple months. Would anyone like me to add them to this group? (I didn't come up with the list BTW. Someone else did, and I'm joining the group in memorizing them, if that makes sense) :)
Mine was in the 80s. Not what I had hoped for, but God was great to give me peace during the whole week, and taught me so many lessons during this whole fall (and summer!) and it was definitely an awesome BB Year!! :)
Nats is short for Nationals (meaning Bible Bee Nationals). Wow, that's super cold! xD xP
that is so sad that you's guys never get snow. a few years ago it got down to the -30s!
Okay. That's good! =) I was 48th (a bit lower than I expected/hoped, but God was in control!).
40 something... I forgot. but I was in primary's.
What were y'alls rankings at Nat's?
well at least u got some...:)
No...at least not very often *at all.* We did have snow a *really* long time ago - I can hardly remember. It was only enough to scratch our names in it on the driveway, though. :P
do you guys have snow? I used to have snow, but that was when we lived in Wisconsin. no snow in CA! :(
xD lol Katie! I like you're rhyme:P @Suzanne: No, it's not cold in the summer, it's even hotter in the summer. It's just not cold in the winter, not all the time. But it has frozen already this winter! :D Last winter it didn't even freeze!
haha that's funny. you guys are pretty lucky! is it cold in the summer then? :P
We had the air conditioner on too. :) It was in the 80s here. :D "'twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house, the AC was running, 'cause we live in the south." :P :D
Oh, what I meant was we had the air conditioning on - it was hot. :P Good! Glad you had fun!
it was really cold in ca too. hope u all had a awesome Christmas! I did!
We had the AC on on Christmas. :P
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm in bible bee! I went to nats this year. But I think I already said so.
Ah, okay. But since y'all are not in the Bible Bee, you really should be! Check it out at biblebee.org!!!
oh, ok. u got me confused there.
no Lucia me Kendra and taco water are not in the Bible bee.
Absolutely! Welcome, Suzanne!
Hi guys can I join? I was in nats this year as a primary, but next year I will be a junior!
@Brianna: I'm proud to say I'm a Texan too. :)
That's funny. :) I've never heard L-u-c-i-a pronounced loo-shuh. I've always said it Loo-see-uh. xP I am a Texan, and it is the best state by far, just so you know. Do you do Bible Bee, Lucia?
haley and kendra and taco eater 36 (tanner, he is my cousin) all go to my school in upper michigan. were are ya'll from, just curious
haley and kendra and taco eater 36 (tanner, he is my cousin) all go to my school in upper michigan. were are ya'll from, just curious
my name is lucia as you already know, lots of people dont know how to pronounse my name (loo see ah). lots of people like @ the doctor or the dentist say "loo sha".(it drives me insaine)
You can if you want to! Anyone is welcome! @Haley, Kendra, and Lucia - are you Bible Bee-ers, or do you just like the group?
hey is it all right if I join?
*SO* excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! xD We actually got to see some people last night, so that was great. xD
Four more days!! I'm praying for y'all! Can't wait to see everyone!!! :D
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. ~ 1 Corinthians 15:58
Good! xD I didn't get all the Greek right, 'cause I've hardly done anything for 1John on my own except get familiar with it, but I've been going through Courtney's list of Greek some, and I'm going to more, too. :)
Thanks! I study those a lot on Quizlet, because I really enjoy it.
Same here Brianna :P I got all the Greek words right though! :D
71.9% is really good! I can never get that high on my first try for a practice test!
I took it to critique it for her. Don't feel too bad, Hannah, 'cause I didn't do too well either. :P But I intend to get a lot better score at Nationals, 'cause most of the ones I got wrong were memory passages that I haven't done yet, and 1John content, which is going to be my top priority after I finish the verses this week. :)
On the practice test??? I don't think I want to tell anyone... I did pretty terrible. :P I think it was 71.9% or something... I think my # of points was 1200 something.
@Hannah, what was your score?
I'm planning to do it later today!
I haven't yet, but I hope to this afternoon!
Thanks! Did any of you take Anna's practice test? I did and didn't do very well :\
I'm trying! less than 500 now :D
I'm going to try, Brianna. I figured out that I only have about 1/3 of them memorized, so I have like 550 or so verses left.
I'm hoping to finish a week before Nat's, on the 9th. :)
@Brianna, when are you finishing?
Are you still going to be able to finish them all, Hannah? :)
Pretty good, considering that I haven't even memorized half of the verses. I already memorized a couple passages today. But the app I use is messing up somehow :\
Just in case some of you haven't seen this yet (Its about the meeting at nats): Calling all Memverse, Quizlet, and SctripureTyper Users! Here are the details for the annual online Meet-Up. What: MV, Q, and ST Meeting! When: November 16, 2016 @ 4:00 PM Where: (hopefully you all will know where this is) By the elevators at the right of the lobby by the game tables. Directions: Walk in the main doors of the hotel. Turn right and walk to the elevators. Turn left right before you get to the elevators. In previous years we would spend time praying, but as we have a prayer time scheduled for 3:00-4:00 on Wednesday (right before the meet-up), we will plan to just use this meeting to get to know each other. We will start with a structured time where we go around and introduce ourselves, then we will have a "free-for-all" time of fellowship. I will also bring some Dutch Blitz cards, but I don't know if we'll end up using them. We will be having a group picture very near the beginning, so please try to get there on or close to on time if you want to be in that. I will bring my camera to get an "official" picture, which I will then send out to everybody. I will bring a piece of paper so I can get everybody's emails.
Same here. Going to work on it now, as soon as I find the tablet that has the Verses app on it :)
I think I'm not quite going to finish James 3:1-18 tonight - I'll finish it tomorrow. :)
Sure! I've only done 5 verses of it. :)
Thanks everyone! I don't have it word-perfect yet (well I might, I'm not sure) but it's pretty close! :) Right now I'm not too strict about getting them word-perfect, because unless I make it to Semis word-perfectness won't be too big a deal. I know they deduct points for mess-ups in Orals, but I figure as long as I get most of the passage right I should do okay. Hopefully :) Hey Brianna, if you haven't already memorized it, I'll work on it tonight so we can sort of memorize together!
Good job, Hannah! I like that one a lot. :) It actually wasn't too hard for me, but that may be because we've been going through the proverbs every month. xP Right now I'm working on James 3:1-18, which I think might be the longest Junior passage. :) I think it's going to be easier than it looked at first, which is nice. :)
@Hannah, great job! That's a hard one!
Great Job Mommy's Helper! I'm working on that Proverbs passage as well right now. :P
Great job @Mommys Helper!! I didn't reach my goal yesterday either, but I was able to almost catch up today as well. :) I heard about the app from someone else so I downloaded it too, but I don't think I was the one that talked about it...I could have been though! :) Nats is coming up so quick! I can't wait to meet y'all! :D
It's pretty crazy. Like seriously! I only got about half that yesterday, but since I'm not counting Sundays or Tuesdays, I've done a little catching up today. :) I MEMORIZED PROVERBS 2:1-19!!!! I downloaded that app that someone (was it you Katie?) recommended, the app called Verses, and that really helped me :)
Whoa, 50 a day is a lot! x) But you can so do it! And Katie you too! =)
@Mommys Helper I'm trying to do the same as you-50 or so verses a day. :)
You must be really busy, because fifty verses is a lot to memorize every day!
Congrats, Elizabeth! I haven't nearly finished, and I calculated that to finish, I'll have to memorize 50 verses every day (not Sundays or Tuesdays, bc Tuesday I have orchestra practice and Sundays I have church.) Today is my last day of school for a while :)
Good job, Elizabeth! :D And hello, iBibleBee! I guess you are competing as a Junior at Nationals this year?
Hi 👋 people! I just joined the group!
I'll be reviewing on weekends!
Yes! I finished last Sunday!
Good! Have you finished the verses yet?
My studying is going really well so far!
How's everybody's studying coming along so far? Only 23 more days!!! =DDD =/
Also I am not the one in our family who made it to nationals but I am memorizing the verses anyways! (Btw you guys are really competitive!)
Would y'all mind praying for my little sister Esther as she study's for nationals? Thanks so much!
Hey guys!!! I haven't been on here in a long while since I'm not memorizing on here right now. I am super excited about seeing you guys at Nationals!
I'll start reviewing again after I finish all the verses.
I don't have all of mine....
Well I only have 1 current...
The Srs. are ahead of us!!
Sorry. Probably my fault. But whatever. :P
I'm also exited about Nationals!!!!!!!
Sort of.... mostly scared. :P I'm looking forward to seeing you all!
Anyone exited about Nationals?
We're more than 300 vs. ahead of them!!!!!!!!!!!!
Of course we're not first. I'll be dropping verses to memorize. (I 'm not going to review on ST, because I also review orally). I'll start reviewing on ST when I finish all the verses.
Great job!! We're ahead by almost 200 verses! But we're not first... xP
In case you're wondering why I'm telling you to review, but I only have 47 verses current, :P I don't have much time to review, sadly. I need to work on memorizing more than reviewing.
Yeah... I'm very competitive. I need to leave for the wedding though, but when I come back, we'd better be first! xP jk
You guys are sooo competitive xP
Wow you guys ARE competitive! :D I haven't typed out many of the verses I have memorized on ST yet. I can do some of those this afternoon though! :)
We're almost ahead of them, but I will have to stop reviewing soon because I have to do my sister's hair for the wedding, and then I need to get ready too! :P
I'm trying! I just tried to review Psalm 119:25-40, but I typed it too slowly :( I won't leave until like 2:30 or maybe a little earlier; so I have some time. You could memorize some more!
Unless you can't review, because you're going to a wedding.
They're 72 verses ahead!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Someone needs to review!!!!!!!!!!!
@Hannah, you should review.
All my verses are current.... I can't do anything........
They're ahead now. That is crazy!!
Yes, I am @Elizabeth. Yay! I'll review a bit just to ensure that we stay ahead. And guys, NATIONALS IS NEXT MONTH!!!! How crazy is that?!?!?!
We have the same amount of verses as the Seniors!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And the leaderboard puts us ahead of them!!!!!!!!!!!
@Hannah, are you Mommys Helper Memverse on Quizlet?
Y'all sure are competitive. I am too, though. XP
I'll be able to do a whole bunch of reviewing tomorrow. I perfected 26vs. today!!! xD
Heh. I still haven't memorized Psalm 40:1-17; I'll try to do that once I'm done baking cookies. (According to my brother, one of the best cookie recipes he's ever tasted.) Okay!
I'll go memorize. I need to memorize 4 vs. to finish the passage. I'll try to finish before I leave.
Okay. How many verses are you doing today? I wish I could get some, but I can't. I'm not going to be at home tonight, I can probably finish my passage, but I won't be able to type it until tomorrow.
Guys, REVIEW!! The Seniors are talking about how they want to beat us!!
I'll work on reviewing once I've memorized my goal number of verses for today.
We'll have the same as them when we get 28 more verses.
They're ahead by 41 verses.
Well, they won't if we have more members, which we do right now.
@Brianna, I was so surprised when we got the email! :D @Mommys Helper Thanks! I can't wait to meet you all at nats! xD
Finally! But Seniors have more verses than us, so they're going to have more sometime.....
Now we're ahead of the Seniors by almost 100 verses!! Good job everyone!
Thanks @Katie! Glad you can come!
I was so excited when Matthew told me you were an alternate, Katie! xD
What a genius idea to make this group @Mommys Helper! (Or genius copycat idea :D) I was an alternate this year, so I found out a few weeks ago that I qualified...I'm only at about 100 verses, but I'm catching up! :)
There. Now we're 5vs. ahead of them. XP but it probably won't last long. I'll review more tomorrow...
Now they're ahead of us.... Someone needs to review!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't, because I don't have any verses due.
Waaaiiitttt... Seniors have the exact same number of verses current as we do! The leaderboard just puts them ahead of us. Oh, well, I'll just review a couple verses then.
Oh, I need to review then! :P Thanks!
I have too. Seniors are ahead of us now.....
Well I've already done Psalm 40. :D
I think we were ahead of the Seniors for a long time. Your new picture is really cool!
Way to go Juniors! We're ahead of the Senior counting group! *high-fives everyone* (I just changed my picture, Elizabeth - it's easier to see in this one that it's just the way the light is shining on it. It's so cool that you can see that it's hollow! :D)
Oh and Elizabeth... my hair isn't green. Maybe it just looks that way. I will try to find a different picture where the color is better so you can see it more clearly.
I've already memorized that one :D And Elizabeth, I will maybe do that one tomorrow or late today, once I get Psalm 40:1-17 down.
Sorry - I'm doing Psalm 119:25-40 today. x)
Does anyone want to memorize Psalm 119:49-64 with me today and tomorrow?
How does your hair turn green?
It is a magnified picture of my hair. xP
BTW, what is your profile picture? @Hannah
Okay. So you could just mentally add it to your number of verses on here, and then you know how many you have memorized.
I can see it in my group.
Maybe you can see it in a different group? Or you could just add it to your account...
Yeah, it is weird. But ST has problems sometimes.
Huh, that's weird @Elizabeth. IDK what the problem is... and thanks!
Okay, I think ST had problems again, because I can't see it.
I didn't think it was hilarious when I realized it, but now it is, and actually helpful, because I went over that part so many times that I know it really well now. :D Haha, thanks!
@Hannah - Ok nice! Lol that's hilarious xP
btw, nice group picture :D
Wait, it shows up that it's there...
@Hannah, Psalm 119:81-96 is a Junior passage. Can you add it?
Thank Jarrett! It took several days, actually. I listened to Marquis Laughlin on Acts 3 over and over.... until I realized that it was a different year of ESV and he wasn't saying it the way the BB cards do. xP But I have it right now. :D
Who do you all think will win Juniors? I think it'll be Jarrett. xP But if not, maybe Olivia Davis?
No, I'm not. I started 9th grade recently, and I don't have time to take a lot of time off, but I'll probably take a couple weeks off school at the end of Nat's season.
@Brianna - No, not at the moment. Are you?
@Hannah - Haha! I can assure you that I won't, though I am very flattered(lol). Btw, congrats! Acts 3:1-16 is a hard one!
Yeah, I figured. :P It was just cool!
I just happened to be on when you asked me.
Wow, that was a fast response! :P I'm glad you like it!
If you include the Locals verses, 194. xP I really need to study!
Good job! How many verses have you memorized?
*screams excitedly* YESS! I memorized Acts 3:1-16!!!! :D
Ummm... yes you are. *can't wait till you win and then I come up and say "I told you so" xP*
Whoa. xP Great job! Are you taking off school?
Lol! Umm...no I'm not :P I know some people in this group who have already accomplished the same thing. :D Awesome, thanks :)
... WHAT, JARRETT? You already have all the verses memorized?!?!?! Wow, you are totally going to win! xD Okay, I'll delete it. You're welcome!
Thanks for this, Hannah! I'm still trying to get my finger on what the missing two verses are, but Matt 9:10-12 is not one of the passages. Thanks again for making this group :)
Thanks for making this group, Hannah! Looks like it's going to be helpful, at least for some people. :)
