created a new group for this year, look to join DGCC Fighter Verses
yikes, I can imagine. lifting this up and hoping you got out today
spent 9 hours trying to get out yesterday but came back home, trying again this morning, everyone's pretty frustrated and tired
oh no!! here's hoping for clearance and a safe and fun trip!!
thanks, but we are still here. yesterday the smog was so heavy that the airport was closed, visibility was less than 50 yards. trying again this afternoon.
have a wonderful trip to Thailand!
thank you! off to Thailand later today. Maria and Jared are already there. can't wait to breathe again!
I reached out to Amber to create a 2017 category. :)
was there a new verse this week?
I think Amber is the admin/owner--I'll ask her :) happy new year!!
happy new year to you guys too!
if you start a new group, you can easily add collections. that's why I wonder if the person who started this group needs to be the one to add. but I don't know who started this group.
I agree with you both! happy new year!
I agree! I'm not sure how to add a collection either but will play with it and see if I can figure it out. I will also check around the club and see if anyone is interested in an invitation to join us--memorization is something we are being encouraged to work on and perhaps the extra tools will be as helpful to others!
Thanks! What's the plan for 2017 here? It would be nice to add a new collection for 2017 but I went online and can't seem to do that. Maybe whoever first dreamed the group has to do it? Also, do you think more people might want to join us?
Sounds like an exciting trip!! Thinking of you all and hoping the air keeps getting better!!
James is much better, air is better but still bad, we are all going to Thailand next week so looking forward to that
sorry to hear all from your last few posts, thinking hard for James, please keep us updated!
James was sick and in bed all day yesterday so hoping he wakes up feeling better today. ever since the bad air days, he's had a nasty cough that's just getting worse.
Christmas is a working day here and though there is increased interest in Christmas as a western holiday, there is not much to really remind us of Christmas. We've been working hard all this week with final exams and grading so we haven't even had much time to think about Christmas. We will have a brunch with our family, play some games with other families in the community and just spend time together. No gifts, no tree, just us! Trying to make a decent meal from scratch in our crazy non-kitchen!
glad to hear it's improving--hope the air stays clear! thinking of the boys and hope their return was uneventful. we had a nice get together with Michael's family tonight to celebrate, preparing to host a big meal at our place Sunday evening. do y'all have special plans for the weekend?
we had some rain which cleared the skies so it's pretty good now but will likely creep back up again in a few days. Jared and Andrew come home today.
yes, we're thinking of you all.
very slightly better but still holding my breath!
hey Michele!! I'm trying to get back with the memory program!! we are thinking of you all <3 How is the air today?
hi Jess, nice to see you here!
that's strange, I've just gone through all the posted 2016 verses
I've learned all the 2016 verses but only have 102 total, you have 104. I must be missing something.
lift that trip up Michele! thanks for the update! WTG Jess!
the end of the semester is kind of crazy, we are traveling to Kunming later this week, another possible future location
how are things going? any special activities with students and/or staff?
happy thanksgiving to you, too!
happy Thanksgiving Nielsens!
haha! nice! ready to knock out psa 8 for the year?
James: "oooh, that's a good name. I like Charles."
very nice! that's pretty neat!
thanks! he was born on my birthday too! an added bonus!
hey, I heard you have a new little guy over there. congratulations!
3 from Phil 4, then the remainder from Psa 8
I see Philippians 4, I guess that's next? But I don't see anything after that.
I put all the remaining verses from 2016 on the list
we returned from L., it is a potential location for us next year, students who are UPG seems a perfect combination
you are doing great! stay with it!
still clawing my way back 😀
awesome! we will lift that place up today.
this morning I'm in the city of Lanzhou, a place full of China's min0rity peoples
what verse are we on? still Ps 96 or something else?
trying to claw my way back 😀
thanks Michele! glad you guys made it back safely. 😀
hey Michael! catch up! you can do it!
we arrived home last night, now to get life back to normal!
safe travels! I need to catch up! I've fallen off.
hey, you're still here! psalm 96:1-3 this week, probably the whole chapter
I added the three from 1 Peter. but I don't know what comes after that.
I'm way behind on my review. I'll check with Amber if she is going to update the verses. hope you guys are getting back on track there.
sorry for the delay, last week was 1 Peter 5:6-7 and this week are verses 8-9
wait a minute? are we done with Romans 8? not done at all really, because I need plenty of review. do you know what comes next?
wedding, life, traveling, ... :(
so far behind! what happened??!
you can listen to Romans 8 here: https://www.biblegateway.com/audio/mclean/esv/Rom.8
hard to believe, but awesome too! I'll be out of town hiking in the woods.
hard to believe, but we should be at dgcc next Sunday
sorry, it's been a crazy week! 8:24-25 due tomorrow
where in Romans 8 should we be now?
haven't heard of the corner room. I find some good memory tunes on YouTube
maybe you've already heard this, but I found a group called "The Corner Room". They sing psalms and have psalm 19. I enjoyed hearing the exact words I had learnt. I wish there was a song of Romans 8!
it was good, we had a lot of fun
I've been offline for the past six days, traveled to Beijing.
learning offline with the kids in the mornings!! Edward did a super job with all of 8 to date yesterday 😄 I will try to jump back into the app more often!
wow, I would have liked to hear Edward
that's what I meant, but glad you are here and working toward committing these to heart. FYI, Edward V. said all 9 verses in Rom 8 this morning
even though it appears to be only the two of us, I really appreciate this group. in my opinion, thinking about these verses is so important. hopefully everyone else is learning offline. but it would be fun and encouraging to have more people join in
where's our group at Michele??
Romans 8:3b-4 due next Sunday. good job Michele!
Are you starting on Romans 8 this week?
Oops! I guess I'm behind. Thanks for the update!
we are on 19:10-12 for this coming Sunday 😄
This is perfect for me. I'm always having a hard time finding out what the next verses are and this will make it so easy. Though I'm not sure what verse you are up to. Is it Ps 19:6-7?
digging this! now I need to catch up to all you guys with the big points! :)
this will be a big help for me, thank you!
Welcome! I just wanted to start a group to encourage persistence and faithfulness and accountability in memorizing our fighter verses.
