Welcome RonHow. If being a part of a group serves as an encouragement that's great. Leave a message if I can help in some way.
Looks like I was successful in removing Simi's spam post after all. Welcome to new member Gunnar!
Okay, thanks for adding those verses, Patty. I continue to work on my master list of verses but I haven't done much with the memory verses in our group.
Hi Phyllis, I just now noticed this posting of yours (11/10). I've added the Proverbs you listed, but they are not the same translation! I hope that's okay. Its funny - I remember them the way they were... Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord... A man's mind plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps and makes them sure. Not sure which translation that is, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to learn them again with new wording (NRSV). Thanks for noticing that they were missing.
Hi Patty,
I deleted my Proverbs collection from One with the Word; however, I could not seem to add those verses to the other Proverbs collection. Will you add them?
Proverbs 3:3-5
Proverbs 12:25
Proverbs 16:3
Proverbs 16:9

Thanks for the "encouraging word" today, Patty. I'm not missing Gridgammon as much as I thought I would so I think I will make it to Easter without online backgammon! My finger is not 100% but is much improved so I think I'll try to resume typing verses again!
Sorry to hear about the "clipper" accident! Hope all is well otherwise with you.

Well shoot. I got careless with a pair of sharp clippers on Saturday and cut deep into my right index finger. I can type without that finger but it's not the same. I may limit myself to reading verses for a while without trying to type them for speed. Otherwise, my effort to stay off the computer to play backgammon every day is moving along. Now, I have to not allow myself to substitute "Pet Rescue Saga" for backgammon. The real objective is to stop "worshiping" the computer and focus on scriptures instead. Be well and we'll chat again soon... -KJ

Fresno greetings. I think Patty and Jani already know about my plan to spend some time here daily as part of a Lenten objective to refrain from online backgammon. I've been to ScriptureTyper half of the days this week but have stayed off the backgammon site 100%. So, I am making progress. I think I am enjoying the typing practice as much as the scripture memory! Carry on, sisters!
I love the new image- very beautiful!
The new image is part of the monument to immigrants in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Thanks Mrs. Patnott for welcoming me and thanks PJ for the tips about mastering versus memorizing. I hope to spend some time this weekend getting familiar with the site. I would like to start by memorizing the Beatitudes. Ok that might be cheating a little because I am somewhat familiar with them and there is that song "Blessed are they" which I know. LOL! Hey you guys are really beating your brother! Ken - come on - the female members of your family are putting you to shame. :) Have a good evening! Jani
Looks like we have a new member- welcome, Jani!
This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. (Psalm 118:24)
I love the new angel photo!
Angel of God, my guardian dear,
To whom God's love commits me here.
Ever this day be at my side,
To light and guard and rule and guide. Amen
Amazing how we can remember so many "snippets" from childhood!
You're up to 10 verses, Mrs. Patnott! (And I bet you've "mastered" them all. Way to go!)
Okay, this week I am going to begin practicing my verses again. I have missed doing this but haven't been able to get on top of my life. This week I will make this a priority!

Fresno greetings... I heard something interesting in our pastor's message today concerning Catholics vs Protestants and an interpretation of the verse in Matthew 16:18. Rather than discuss it here, I'll type it up in a short letter and send it to you via U.S. Postal Service... hopefully I'll get it in the mail tomorrow.
Thanks for the message, PJ! I am so enjoying this discipline of intentionally memorizing scripture so that I can have many of God's words tucked into my heart!
Romans 5:1-5 ...we even boast of our afflictions... and hope does not dissappoint! This is good news! Perhaps it is what *you* need to hear today? Returning to this passage over the last few days has been a blessing to me. Love, Patty
I have found it in the New American Catholic Edition- a great verse :).
PJ, I cannot get to the Sirach verse- what version should I use?
Love, love, love the Easter Lily!
Hi PJ- glad to have the accountability of a group! Mrs. Patnott
