We've picked up a few tips along the way...
* Start out setting up your account and learning your way around on a pc or laptop. The app version and desktop version are slightly different. It is easier to navigate the desktop version while you are getting familiar with how the memory program works. It is also easier to adjust the settings on the DESKTOP version. Once you're up and running, you can easily review on your mobile device.
* A picture is worth a thousand words, right? You can add a profile picture/favorite verse by clicking on "my account" in the lower left hand corner of the DESKTOP version and then clicking on "profile and account settings."
* "Preferences" under "my account" (bottom left on desktop version) is where you can adjust how you type each verse and how frequently you want to review your verses.
* How to get started with Scripture Typer
* The Users Manual is a helpful resource for some of the other tools like printing verse cards, recording audio, and taking a test to check your mastery.
* Make sure you have added the "1 John verse collection" to your Summer Spectacular Group. Very important. If you do not add the group verses, you will not be able to keep your "group verses current." On the group page, under the "memory verses" tab, make sure 1 John is showing up under "Select Verse Collections to memorize with this Group." If not, you can "add verse collection" and select 1 John.
* The secret to memorizing with this program is in the daily review!! See if you can "master" the verse on your first try.
* The easiest way to move up the rankings on the group leaderboard is to stay current with your group verses by reviewing daily. The ranking is based on POINTS not the number of verses. The more verses you memorize, the more points you can gain, BUT if you don't stay "current" you will drop down in the rankings, no matter how many verses you know. This is motivation to review daily. Practice, practice, practice!
* Don't let the "average typing speed" throw you off. As far as we can tell, it is irrelevant to the memory program or point system. More like a side benefit. :-)
