What if I can’t type very fast under pressure? I am a rather quick typer when I am just typing it out, but when I am obligated to type fast enough to let the computer to consider my verse “memorized,” I panic and slow down. I get frustrated when this happens. What can I do?

    Hi Josiah,

    Thanks for the great question!

Keep in mind that you only have to type the verse at 80% of your average typing speed for it to be considered “memorized”. So just relax and remember that you don’t have to get it on the first try. Typing a verse multiple times is actually a very effective way of working it into your memory.

If over time you find that it’s just too hard to hit that mark, you may need to bring your average wpm down by typing slower when you type verses in the “Type It” mode. This is the only mode that records your speed to calculate the average. Use this as a last resort, of course, because you won’t learn as fast if you make it too easy on yourself :) I hope that’s helpful for you.

    Blessings,

    Brett
