Hey, can you add the 2014 verses and the 2015 ones when we get them?
uhhh... Hello? Anybody seeing our posts? EDIT: Guess not.
I don't see the Book of 1 John in the Memory Verses tab, even though you said you added it...
NOW I know 24! :D How's everyone comin' along in their Sword Study? I'm on Week 3 Day 1 the 2nd time through.
Using ESV for Bible Bee? Then these are for you!!!
OCTSRIS -- I know 24, but, hesitantly.
Now I know 14! But like Mindelg, ... hesitantly.
8! (Week 1, week 2, week 3, and week 4)
How many passages does everyone know (from Bible Bee)?
Hey guys, thanks for praying for me. Been really busy, working on Memverse still, but Scripturetyper is kind of getting left behind still work on it some though. Thinking of you guys!
Thanks. That'll make it a lot less annoying!
My record is 101.
Actually, my record is 397 wpm. :P I did it with the shortest verse in the NIV, Job 3:2--"He said." ;D And yes, you can go ahead and disable the automatic E-news. :)
@SBG~ HOAX!! The world record, I believe, is 200-something. Hopefully he will reveal his dirty little secret soon, probably on
the RRLC chat wall. Also, do you mind if I disable the automatic E-news on RRLC? That way, it won't come up every single day, but if we want the members to see it, we can send an e-news e-mail manually ourselves.
*Rolls eyes* See the
RRLC chat page. *Rolls eyes*
Wow, Caleb--what in the world did you type to get to 1500 words per minute?? :)
Oh, sorry OCTSRIS for not getting back to you :) It's really up to you, I'd like to keep them in memory, and have them on Memverse, ST helps but I understand why you might not want them taking up memory. It's on your side of things.
Also, I assume you had your Christmas play yesterday? Can I remove that pack of verses, or do you still want to keep them in memory?
@OCTSRIS Not Yet, I've been fairly busy, I'll look at it though :) Busy Busy Busy. :)
@God's Bondslave~ Did you what I posted on your wall about the term "
Baptist" and the link to the HRBC webpage on that?
Do you like our pictures, or do you just think they're funny, Nicolas? I hope you like them, at least mine. I helped Joseph pick his, but I picked mine myself.
Ha, ha, Nicolas! I like them. Which one do you like best? I don't know which one I like best. Maybe mine, and maybe Joseph's. I don't know. Pending identity, who are you? Are you Rebekah or Joanna? I think i like mine best. Notice I said think, not know. I THINK that I like mine best.
Ok I'm blabbering too much, so bye everyone!
@GB~ Okay, thanks. :-) So you know for the future, you just highlight the address in the URL bar and paste it in the comment box (do you know what that means? ;-).
Funny new pictures, Joseph and Hannah! :D
It's a video on youtube, based On John Piper's Book Don't Waste Your Life. I'd give you the link but have no clue how to do that. Computer illiterate.
Okay, so what exactly is it, and how do I get to it?
apologies sermon mix* wrong word first time. :)
Hey you guys should like up Don't Waste Your Life/Sermon Jam. I think is what it's called. Good Stuff. If you don't think so we can talk :)
@OCTSRIS I'm not sure what to do, I jimmied around a little bit, can you send it now?
Thanks Rosie! I did have a very happy birthday! and you made it happier with that pillow you made me! I'm using the old one for my doll. It fits her head just right!
@God's Bondslave~ Sure! Your Christmas play collection is now complete.
No, I don't really know of any fundamental Reformed seminaries; they're so hard to find! I have heard of the Master's Seminary
("We train men as if lives depend on it"), from
the Answers in Genesis magazine. I certainly hope that will work out for you!
Hey one question for you guys, do you know of any fundamental Reformed seminaries? I've wanted to go to The Master's Seminary but don't think that will work out. What other options are out there? Another place I'd like to go is the Reformation Bible College, (R.C. Sproul) but I can't figure out how much it costs.
Thanks so much! Really appreciate it.
It's great to see you on here too Christian :) We had to leave a day early due to some unforeseen providence. But it was great meeting you and some others there at Nationals. :)
O.K. Here are my passages, Hope these aren't to many.

@ God's Bondslave: Yes, I know how. You ask OCTSRIS to add them for you, and he will do it. ;) I don't know of any other way, actually. He's the group leader, so I think he's the only one who can do that. If you just post what passages you need, I'm sure he can create a new pack and put it in the "Memory Verses" tab. Great to see you back on here, by the way! :)
@OCTSRIS very interesting site, thanks for sharing!
Does anyone know how I can add Bible memory passages in a group? I have been asked to memorize some passages for our Church's Christmas play.
@OCTSRIS--I don't think I've ever been inactive. ;P Also, that's an interesting post you shared. I knew Paul sacrificed a lot to go on his missionary journeys, but I never imagined how much money he sacrificed! :)
@All~ Since most of us have studied 2 Timothy and are currently studying/have studied 1 Timothy, written by Paul, I thought you all might find
this page quite interesting. It is from the blog on
http://www.openbible.info/
@ALL~ MANY OF US NEED TO BECOME ACTIVE ON MEMVERSE AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
;-)
3rdof6kids~ Happy 9th birthday!! :D
Hi, God's Bondslave! You probably know a bunch about me from Memverse, since I've been on there for probably as long as you have, but I'll tell you some more:
My name on Memverse says it all: ChiefOfSinners. ;)
But aside from that fact, I enjoy:
Reading
Listening to Music
Writing Reviews of Adventures in Odyssey Episodes
Watching Movies
Memorizing for the Bible Bee
Long Car Trips (like the one on which we will embark tomorrow :P)
And probably many more things I can't quite think of at the moment. ;)
Really? Wow. I actually play for HRBC as well, on Wednesday night for prayer meeting. Congratulations on your graduation and ministration! (It's a word; I picked it because it rhymes.) By the way, you can just call me OCTSRIS. That's what everybody calls me, and I like it better because feel kinda guilty when people type out my huge username! :-)
If all the rest of us could introduce ourselves to God's Bondslave, that would be nice.
@ On Christ the Sold Rock I stand, I also play piano. I'm not very good but I fill in for my local church.
I am also a runner, just graduated from high-school. Before I graduated I ran distance for our local public school, it was a great ministry program, to be able to reach other kids. I still run, and am trying to build core body strength right now. I do not have a strong frame.
Okay. I've finally gotten around to introducing myself. My name is also Nathan, and I'm 14. I love hymns, piano, guitar, and singing. I also write hymns and music. (I'll probably post some on here when I get the chance.) I also enjoy biking, roller-blading, and other forms or exercise.
Welcome to our group, God's Bondslave! On Christ The Solid Rock I Stand asked us to share a small amount of information about ourselves, so I guess I'll start. My name is Rosie and I am 12 yr. old. I enjoy memorizing Scripture, playing the piano, drawing and doing things outside, such as climbing trees, running and playing soccer.
δούλος, I just added the senior KJV collection to the memory verses wall. But the way you can get to all the BB collections for this year is to click on this image:

It's in the top-left corner of the page.
How can I add KJV verses ? That is the version which I use, I thought about switching to the ESV, I do have an ESV bible now, but due to my 3,000 verses memorized in the KJV. I decided not to switc.
Hey everybody! Check this out; I couldn't help posting it (you might not find it quite as amazing as me)...
ButtonBeats.com
Really? Wow. My name is Nathan too.
If you have any other questions, please ask.
It will be fun getting to know you guys :)
I'm Reformed Um, I don't know about baptist. I really like R.C. Sproul, John Piper, John Gertsner, and others. However, the person that I agree with most theologically is John MacArthur.
I can't say that I would go to church with you guys, my dad is an Arminian pastor :) and I'm only eighteen. :) but thanks for letting me join you. If you're going to the NBB, I'll meet you there. Otherwise my first name is Nathan, I don't like to give out my last name online.
@God's Bondslave~ Well... let's get to know you a bit. I assume you are a reformed baptist? How old are you and what is your first name (if you don't want to tell all that, you don't need to. Just curious). I think we have kinda gotten acquainted with you from the RRLC board. And I don't see why not; the point is that you're a friend and brother in Christ. So I don't think it really matters if you don't go to our church, because if you lived in Ohio you would... right? :-) I am the group administrator, by the way, so I hereby grant you official, written permission to become a legal member of our online group. Even if you're not with us in church, you're with us in heart and spirit!
Can I join you guys, when the Bible Bee is over, I won't have anyone to memorize with. I know I don't go to your church, and probably won't ( I'm from SD :) just wondering?
I had the same thought. Maybe there's another HRBC in Alabama?
His profile says he's from Alabama. I don't think he's from Heritage. ;)
@Rod P.~ I don't recognize your profile picture. If you don't mind me asking, who are you?
Oh. It's done with this really great website: www.mailchimp.com. My pictures move, but it generally doesn't show the movement in the email. But it is set up so you can click on the picture to go to a webpage, so I'll have the link to the picture there. That way they can click the picture to see it move. Thank you so much! That helps!
Yes, if you get an account on photobucket, you can get the HTML that will link the picture on photobucket to wherever you post the code.
But is there some reason you can't just add the picture as an attachment to the e-mail?
©ΗℜιŠτÎαℵ~ Could you tell me about PhotoBucket? I have some pictures I want to paste into a project that is e-mailed, and I want a URL address for them. www.photobucket.com seems to do that. Can you embed pictures on there privately, or something, and then get an HTML code for them? Thanks.
Wow, Christian! Thanks a lot! That will turn my tiny little handful of verses to a large variety of relevant verses! I almost feel kinda bad, because I started it, but you did most of the work!
Thanks for telling me about the BB collections, too. It is a lot easier! I just added the verses you and Nicolas need.
And finally, verses I've collected on the subject of man's radical depravity:
Radical Depravity
Genesis 8:21: And the Lord smelled a soothing aroma. Then the Lord said in His heart, “I
will never again curse the ground for man’s sake, although the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth;
nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done.
Ecclesiastes 9:3: This is an evil in all that is done under the sun: that one thing happens to
all. Truly the hearts of the sons of men are full of evil; madness is in their hearts while they live, and after
that they go to the dead.
Psalm 51:5: Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, And in sin my mother conceived
me.
Jeremiah 17:9: “The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know
it?
Ecclesiastes 7:20: For there is not a just man on earth who does good And does not
sin.
James 4:1-3: Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires
for pleasure that war in your members? You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight
and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you
may spend it on your pleasures.
Isaiah 64:6-7: But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like
filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away. And there is no one who
calls on Your name, Who stirs himself up to take hold of You; For You have hidden Your face from us, And have
consumed us because of our iniquities.
Isaiah 9:17: Therefore the Lord will have no joy in their young men, Nor have mercy on their
fatherless and widows; For everyone is a hypocrite and an evildoer, And every mouth speaks folly. For all this His
anger is not turned away, But His hand is stretched out still.
Jeremiah 13:23: Can the Ethiopian change his skin or the leopard its spots? Then may you also
do good who are accustomed to do evil.
Jeremiah 18:12: And they said, “That is hopeless! So we will walk according to our own plans,
and we will every one obey the dictates of his evil heart.”
I hope you can use all of these! I'm glad I could use this collection I've been keeping to help you. :)
Okay, now I'll post all of the verses I've collected on the subject of predestination and God's absolute
sovereignty.
Predestination and God's Sovereignty
Proverbs 16:4: The Lord has made all for Himself, Yes, even the wicked for the day of
doom.
Proverbs 16:9: A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.
Proverbs 16:33: The lot is cast into the lap, But its every decision is from the
Lord.
Proverbs 19:21: There are many plans in a man’s heart, Nevertheless the Lord’s counsel—that
will stand.
Proverbs 21:1: The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, Like the rivers of water; He turns
it wherever He wishes.
Ecclesiastes 7:14: In the day of prosperity be joyful, But in the day of adversity consider:
Surely God has appointed the one as well as the other, So that man can find out nothing that will come after
him.
1 Peter 2:8b: They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were
appointed.
Romans 8:20: For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who
subjected it in hope;
Isaiah 37:26: “Did you not hear long ago How I made it, From ancient times that I formed it?
Now I have brought it to pass, That you should be For crushing fortified cities into heaps of ruins.
Isaiah 37:28: “But I know your dwelling place, Your going out and your coming in, And your rage
against Me.
Isaiah 63:17: O Lord, why have You made us stray from Your ways, And hardened our heart from
Your fear? Return for Your servants’ sake, The tribes of Your inheritance.
Ecclesiastes 5:19: As for every man to whom God has given riches and wealth, and given him
power to eat of it, to receive his heritage and rejoice in his labor—this is the gift of God.
Isaiah 45:1: “Thus says the Lord to His anointed, To Cyrus, whose right hand I have held— To
subdue nations before him And loose the armor of kings, To open before him the double doors, So that the gates
will not be shut:
Y'know, you don't have to add all of the Bible Bee verses yourself. If you just click on the Bible Bee icon at the top of the page, you can go to the Bible Bee page where all of the Bible Bee verse packs--for all categories and Bible versions--are posted. From there, you can add them to the group's memory verses. That should be a lot quicker than adding all 600+ verses yourself. ;)
Thank you so much, ©ΗℜιŠτÎαℵ! I just added them all. Calvinism has quite a collection now! Thanks again!
I've actually sort of kept a collection of verses I've found that relate to Calvinism over the last couple of
years, so here are others I have found:
Election
1 Peter 1:2: elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of
the Spirit, for obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace be
multiplied.
Mark 13:20: And unless the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh would be saved; but for the
elect’s sake, whom He chose, He shortened the days.
Romans 9:11: (for the children not yet being born, nor having done any good or evil, that the
purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works but of Him who calls),
Colossians 3:12: Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies,
kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering;
1 Thessalonians 1:4: knowing, beloved brethren, your election by God.
2 Timothy 2:10: Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may
obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
1 Peter 1:10: Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure,
for if you do these things you will never stumble;
There are more on the subject of election, but those are the main ones. And I also have several more verses on
the subjects of Total Depravity and Predestination, which I will post later when I have more time. Hopefully this can help you!
Oh, and here are some more, with relevance to the doctrine of Particular Redemption:
Matthew 1:21: And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.
Ephesians 5:25: Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,
Hebrews 9:28: so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.
Hey, Nathan, I think you should add Acts 13:48 to your "Calvinism" list:
Acts 13:48: Now when the Gentiles heard it, they were glad and glorified the word of the Lord. And as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed.
@Amazing Grace~ Go to this link: http://scripturetyper.com/AccountSettings/ and type your username in the first name box and then click OK
hi it is Hannah. how do I get a username ?
@New member~ Who are you? (You may want to get a username :-)
Thanks SBG. That makes sense, too!
Yeah, I would have been really confused about that verse as well, if it weren't for my NIV Study Bible! :) It says in its commentary on that verse: "'handed over to Satan.'--The reference is to church discipline (see Matthew 18:17 and note). Paul had excluded these two men from the church, which was considered a sanctuary from Satan's power. Out in the world, away from the fellowship and care of the church, they would be "taught" (the word means basically "to discipline") not to blaspheme. The purpose of such drastic action was more remedial than punitive. For a similar situation see 1 Corinthians 5:5, 13." Very helpful!
I got my Reformation Study Bible from grace and truth books, but you can also get them from Ligonier Ministries. Here is the link to where I bought my bible: http://www.graceandtruthbooks.com/product/esv-reformation-study-bible-genuine-leather-burgundy
I really like my study bible but at the same time I really like my old ESV bible where it is more bible on each page and less study notes:-) Thanks for the link to the Millennialsolutions I will have to check it out.
Christ's Handmaiden, thank you so much for pointing that out! I actually wondered exactly what that passage meant, because I would think that if he handed them over to Satan, then they would learn to blaspheme even worse. I was confused about that, so I didn't make any comment on it in the lesson. I would have asked Pastor about it, but there wasn't time. Now it makes sense to me!
Say, where do you get those Reformation Study Bibles? I've heard they're really good, and I might like an ESV one for myself.
Here's a link that caught my eye that you might be interested in for your card business: http://millennialsolutions.com/
Hi all- I was reading through my Reformation Study Bible when I read 1 Timothy 1:20 about Paul handing Hymenaeus and Alexander over to Satan and I found these comments really helpful.
I have handed over to Satan: "This is probably a reference to putting these two individuals outside the fellowship of the church and, hence, back into the world- the domain of Satan. Paul uses a similar expression in 1 Cor. 5:5."
May learn not to blaspheme: "The purpose of this excommunication is disciplinary- that the two would recognize their errors and repent."
I thought this was really good especially since Mr. Alexander just taught on church discipline in the last three weeks!
Go to www.wordle.net, click "Create" and you'll be on your way. :)
@Christian~ I can see your last one. Your first one is still loading... and I'll just wait for it. What was the name of that program, again??
You have to be memorizing the memory verses specific to this group. You can see those and add them to your personal verses by clicking on the "Memory Verses" tab above.
Does anyone know why all of our profiles on HRBC says we haven't memorized anything (besides InSoloChristo who somehow figured it out)?
See if I don't.
That's an appeal to fear. I know you don't really mean that.
I'm not talking to you anymore. :P
@Christian~ If you had assumed that, you'd be committing a slippery slope, which is when one makes an invalid assumption about the future based on the present or past.
